Vienna, March 24, 2025 – Last Friday, KANSAI HELIOS Austria opened its new finished goods warehouse in Vienna Floridsdorf. The modern building offers over 7,200 m² of space for around 7,800 Euro pallet spaces. Around 200 guests attended the opening ceremony to celebrate this milestone together.
After a planning phase of around two and a half years and a subsequent two-year construction period, KANSAI HELIOS Austria opened its new finished goods warehouse. The celebration took place directly in the order picking hall, from where state-of-the-art industrial coatings will be shipped to more than 60 countries around the world in the future. Among the guests were the head of the 21st district of Vienna, Georg Papai, and Satoku Toku, Chargé d’Affaires of the Japanese Embassy in Austria.
“We are very proud to be able to put this ultra-modern warehouse, which was built in accordance with the latest safety standards, into operation. This project is another important step on our path to success and growth. It also provides us with a solid basis for even more customer service, flexibility and product availability,” says Alexander Schütter, Managing Director of KANSAI HELIOS Austria.
A photovoltaic system with a peak output of 450 kWp is installed on the roof. This can cover around 20% of KANSAI HELIOS Austria’s annual electricity requirements. Additional space for offices and meetings was also created as part of the new building. In future, the company’s almost 20 electric vehicles can be charged with solar power at the in-house e-charging stations.
“I am delighted to be taking the next big step towards our Group’s sustainability goals with today’s opening,” says Dietmar Jost, CEO of the KANSAI HELIOS Group. “The investment of over 22 million euros clearly demonstrates the commitment of our Japanese parent company Kansai Paint to the Austrian site.”
The sophisticated safety system can independently detect incidents at any time of day or night and ensure immediate isolation and alerting. A fire would be detected within a few seconds and extinguished with the installed gas or foam extinguishing system.
As part of the celebration, guests were given a tour of the new building and were able to see the state-of-the-art technologies for themselves. The event also provided a platform for exchange and networking between industry experts and partners.
With the opening of the new building, KANSAI HELIOS Austria has set an important milestone in its continuous growth and innovation strategy. The modern facilities and technologies create a solid basis for future success and enable the company to consistently expand its leading position in the coatings industry. Setting the course for the future underlines the company’s ambition to offer high-quality and environmentally friendly solutions in the long term, while at the same time strengthening its competitiveness on the global market.
